Cannabis growing without a tent.
I’m a new convert to growing cannabis in a grow tent. Readers of my Homebox grow tent review will know that I think it makes the whole grow set up so much simpler ..
- Its air tight so extraction and air flow are efficient.
- Its light tight so I don’t need to worry about light interruptions
- A grow tent is easy to put up, take down and move house with
and so on ….
But I realize that a grow tent isn’t always the most practical solution to setting up a grow room.
- The initial cost of a grow tent (and imho its only worth buying a Homebox or Secret Jardin model) raises your start up costs
- If you are looking at growing in a larger area than standard sized 1.2m x 1.2m (4 foot by 4 foot) not only is cost prohibitive, but the chances are that you are looking at converting a whole room.
The simple fact is that if I am looking to grow in a 3m x 4m room its a lot easier and cheaper to convert the whole room than it is to fill it with a series of grow tents.
- As long as I put a lock on the door there can be no accidental light interruption
- Lights cover a certain area, but light spillage onto the next area works both ways.
- Ventilation and air flow can be controlled for the whole room (as can heating) by upgrading one level of extractor (moving from one 4″ to two 6″ exhaust fans)
- Space management, pathways and access .. these are a lot easier to work without grow tents.
So my advice would be .. don’t worry if you want to set up an indoor grow room but don’t want to buy a grow tent.
Start here:
Building an Indoor Grow Room as it covers all the basics you need to think about. Don’t forget about ventilation and air flow and get good tips from my last update on indoor grow room set up. You may want to browse “What do I need to grow a kilo of weed” as it gives you a checklist of sorts too
